RR: Groups and teams – comparing research life outside software engineering

Jon Pipitone‘s post on groups and teams discussing the way research groups are organized and collaborate in software engineering compared to how they collaborate in other research fields is definitely worth a reading.

Are you a group or a team? We are clearly a group. Wether we should move to a more “team-based approach” is something that needs a lot of thinking since it looks like the group structure feels more natural for us (in the end we have never decided not to be a team, in jon’s sense of the word, but this is how we have evolved).
